Movies for the bank holiday

It's a Monday, and it's a Bank Holiday.  So when you collapse on the sofa tonight after fun and games in the glorious sunshine (yes, really, for once it's gorgeous on a bank holiday!) what's going to round off the long weekend?  Here are a few picks we've spotted.

Blinkbox's Movie Mondays promotion has some good films for 99p this week, including Captain Phillips and Mud (which is already included if you have an Amazon Prime subscription).

Don't forget that with the Movie Mondays promotion, so long as you buy the film today you'll have a month to watch it.  This week's Movie Mondays code is MONDAYS117.

Also playing on Amazon Prime is Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa which sounds like a light-hearted way to round off the holiday weekend, or you could watch Michael Douglas as Liberace in Behind The Candelabra.

Want more action? How about End Of Watch, also included in the Amazon subscription service at the moment.

Bafta-winning Blue Jasmine is very highly rated, or if you fancy something a little bit darker, we've heard good things about Nebraska, now playing on a good number of the PAYG services.

If you're a Netflix subscriber, how about Frances Ha or the Oscar-nominated Stories We Tell?  At the other end of the entertainment spectrum you could catch Iron Man 2.

Now TV Movie pass subscribers have a pretty great selection including The World's End, Flight, Lincoln  and Despicable Me 2.

Looking for something for the kids?  BBC iPlayer is showing Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa until May 11th.  Not to be outdone, ITV Player has Pollyanna for free at the moment.

What's your pick for the weekend? Did we miss your favourite? Let us know!
